Geometry Integrated with Algebra

In person classes held in the Allied Gardens/Grantville area of San Diego.
Pre-requisite: Proficiency with basic Algebra I concepts.*
Minimum 6 students, maximum 16.
Instructor provides all print materials including a loaned text, Discovering Geometry by Michael Serra, 4th Ed, notes, supplemental handouts / activities, and fully worked solutions.
A compass, protractor, scientific calculator and a sturdy 1-1/2" 3-ring binder required.
Fee including materials: $570 per semester, or 8 payments of $145 per month. Discounts available to homeschool families paying privately - See payment and discount terms.

Contact Julie Brennan for additional information.*Solving equations and proportions, linear equations, systems of equations, radicals and quadratic equations are essential Algebra skills used in this course. Each chapter of the text has an Algebra skills refresher section, but in a review format assuming the student has learned the concepts before. Numerous applications of algebraic methods to solve geometry problems are included throughout each section.
Pre-class placement evaluation available on request. Students who are close to this level but lacking some areas may be able to fill gaps as they go, if they are willing to work hard to so. Ask the instructor if in doubt.
