Delenn does the math with the story. Each day the sharks swim, she tallys the number of laps and calculates the number of laps they have left to swim to achieve their goal. Lots of mental math and regrouping of double digit addition. I stop to show Delenn pictures but she tells me she's read the story so often she doesn't want me to. But this grid approach to the math is something she's never tried before.

Delenn has completed her calculations, including checking to see if the total laps per shark add up to the total of 75, and the number of laps per day add up to 75. We talk about how if these do not add up, there is a mistake somewhere.
